Journaling is one of those things that I constantly suggest or bring up in my therapy sessions. In addition to knowing about the many benefits of journaling, I wholeheartedly believe that journaling is one of the most powerful tools to keep as part of you mental health toolkit since, among other things, it can provide mental clarity, increase self-awareness (helps you to learn more about yourself!), reduces stress, and helps you process your emotions, thoughts and feelings.

The first (and only) blog post I’ve written with grief journaling prompts was last December, and I’m surprised it has been well received by many. I’m thankful it has been helpful to you in some way or another.

Grief is not just last year’s buzz word; grief is a complex experience we continue to deeply feel & go through as we persistently endure many losses.

Because of this, I’m sharing more journaling prompts inspired by the soon-approaching feelings of fall and the month of September. My hope is to each month continue to share prompts on this blog that might inspire you to write and put your feelings on paper, if you choose the practice of journaling as a comforting tool for your grief.

If you’re a therapist or related health professional and this resonates with the work you do, you’re welcome to use this resource with your clients.

May you find comfort in the month of September, amidst whatever it may bring.
